As 2024 came to an end, there was much to reflect on, and as 2025 begins, there is even more to plan ahead for.

I’m grateful to have been able to get my foot in the door at not just one but two schools, where I’ve started teaching digital fabrication. I hope 2025 brings even more opportunities. Teaching has been incredibly rewarding—it allows me to share my knowledge while also learning. There are many tools within the programs I teach that I don’t often use, so when students ask questions about them, it’s a great chance for me to expand my own understanding.

At Keio, the students are making solid progress on their final designs. Ken-sensei and I are planning to produce a topographical site map with relevant buildings to support their final presentations.

Meanwhile, the students at Toyota Kosen have created a site model for their pavilion and are currently working on several full-scale models of a stool that will be part of the pavilion’s façade.

The health spa design is coming along as well. I’m preparing a construction estimate to present to the client, detailing the cost of materials like insulation boards, drywall, and flooring. This project presents challenges I haven’t faced before as an architect, designer, or builder, but I’m excited for this design-build adventure.
Lastly, the skate ramp will be completed next week once I’m back in my shop.
