House Hunting

Today my wife and I had a chance to walk around the center of the town. We took several hours to survey the area in search of abandoned houses. We wanted to focus our attention on the main streets, using the main roadways in the town will help us be a visual icon for commuters and passerby. Having a place right on one of the main street means that we are able to interact with the locals on a daily basis. The aim is to truly integrate ourselves into the surrounding community.
There were several different types of abandoned houses throughout the town. Small single-family dwellings to mix use buildings. Looking at all the houses that were available for us gave us an idea of what we can build upon. We were looking for a house that had a unique character, location and one that wasn’t too new. At the same time, we were wary of houses that needed too much work. We wanted to renovate a house to meet our needs as a family and as company.
The house needed to support us two as a family that is looking to grow. We also wanted to install a cafe as a storefront and a wood shop, digital fabrication shop/diy shop for the business side.
We found a few spots that looked tempting…. but the search goes on…
